Platelet-rich Plasma Therapy is a natural treatment that uses the body’s own growth factors to stimulate stem cells for tissue regeneration. Growth factors are naturally occurring proteins in your body that stimulate healing. What is Platelet-rich Plasma Therapy?

What to expect at ViveWell
PRP and PRFM are minimally invasive in-office procedures performed in 4 steps.
- The staff draws your blood, much like you have probably experienced during a blood test. It’s essential to come to your appointment well-hydrated and well-nourished to avoid feeling lightheaded from the blood draw.
- The blood is then placed into a machine that separates the platelets, concentrating them into platelet-rich plasma. Our office uses Magellan technology, an automated and closed system that significantly reduces the risk of infection and error.
- The target area is numbed using topical anesthesia to prevent discomfort.
- The PRP is injected into the treatment area.
You can expect to be in the office for about an hour or so, after which you can return to work or resume regular activity. Although this therapy is well-tolerated and has a low risk of adverse effects, some people experience redness, tenderness, irritation and mild bruising at the injection site.
